5 Big Changes to Bruce Lee’s

From martial artist to movie star, no icon has had a greater impact on the world than Bruce Lee, and no other book has made the same impact on the martial arts world than Bruce Lee’s Tao of Jeet Kune Do.

Now for the first time in more than 30 years, Bruce Lee’s most influential work is being revisited and expanded.

Explore the philosophy behind his martial art once again with digitally enhanced hand-drawn illustrations by Bruce Lee. The sketches throughout the Tao have been pulled from the archives specifically for this edition. Bruce Lee’s drawings exhibit not only his artistic capabilities but also his deep understanding of anatomy. Most of these sketches depict not only fight scenes or scenarios but also the beginnings of Bruce Lee’s art, jeet kune do.

The expanded edition also includes never-before-seen Chinese translations. With these notes, written by Bruce Lee, you can gain an even deeper insight to the way Bruce Lee formulated or organized the fighting methods for jeet kune do. Even though most of the prose is written in English, these Chinese translations unlock even more information about the inner workings of Bruce Lee’s mind.

Another unique difference that can be found in the expanded edition are the clearly framed training aids and exercises. In the previous edition, these features were not separated clearly from the rest of the text.  By framing these features, not only does it enhance the reading experience but also conveys a more comprehensive fighting system Bruce Lee was designing.

Another new innovation for this edition are the side quotes—quotes pulled from the text—which offer insights into Bruce Lee’s philosophy. Also in this edition, there have been slight changes to the structure of the chapters. Now chapters and even subsections can be referenced much easier.

This new edition also includes a brief history on the book and contributions about the Tao from those who were close to Bruce Lee, such as:

Inside the expanded edition, Bruce Lee’s closest friends, students and followers discuss how the Tao has shaped their lives and training. Each of the contributors have had some integral connection to the Tao. Now, with this expanded edition, they can express their appreciation for what the Tao has meant to them and speak about how Bruce Lee not only changed their lives but also revolutionized the course of martial arts history.

Tao of Jeet Kune Do grants you the rare opportunity to learn directly from Bruce Lee—one of the most celebrated and inspirational figures in martial arts history.

“Jeet kune do is the enlightenment.
It is a way of life, a movement toward willpower and control.”
